Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work
  • The ClariSea filter is a filter system which has been designed to completely replace traditional filter socks.
  • It can be considered as a fine filter (25um nominal filtering capacity), which will clear water to achieve brilliant clarity.
  • The ClariSea filter collects these particles by trapping them in the filter fleece. The device has a water inlet and a water outlet. In between these the fleece is positioned so that the water has to pass through the fleece. When the fleece becomes blocked with trapped particles, the fleece is advanced and clean fleece is introduced into the active filter area.
  • The propulsion of the fleece roll is performed via an electric motor coupled to the take up spool – this rotates the take up spool so that the fleece roll is advanced by winding the used fleece onto the take up roll – this introduces clean fleece into the filter.
  • The control of this process is triggered by a float switch, which functions as an open or closed switch when the water level rises or falls. As the fleece traps particles from the water, the resistance to the flow of water through the fleece increases and the  water level inside the filter rises – the float of the switch rises in the water level until the float switch output switches, triggering the advance of the fleece roll until the water level falls and the float switch then closes.
